Mali Brijun, located within Croatia’s Brijuni National Park, is opening its doors to visitors once again as the 2025 excursion season begins.

This quaint island offers a unique blend of natural beauty and historical intrigue, inviting visitors to explore at a gentler pace, far from the bustle of everyday life.

Fort Minor – A Silent Sentinel of the Past

At the heart of the experience is a guided tour of Fort Minor, a magnificent Austro-Hungarian fortress constructed in the late 19th century.

Perched atop the island, the fort stands as a proud reminder of the region’s military history. Visitors can explore its grand stone corridors, admire the impressive architectural features, and take in breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding seascape.

The Kamen Most Trail – Nature, History, and Solitude

The excursion also includes a walk along the scenic Kamen Most trail, a route that winds through some of Mali Brijun’s most picturesque landscapes.

Led by expert guides, visitors will pass remnants of former military structures, traditional dry stone walls, and quiet forest paths teeming with local flora and fauna.

Along the way, guests will learn how the island once functioned as part of a wider military system, how nature has since regenerated, and how the island now thrives without permanent residents.

This immersive experience offers a rare opportunity to discover the untouched corners of Mali Brijun – places that cannot be fully appreciated in photographs, but only in person, at your own pace.
