As part of her tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of her debut album On How Life Is, Macy Gray, will perform in the Croatian capital in June.
Gray will perform at Tvornica Kulture on Friday, 20 June 2025, treating the audience to her greatest hits.
Macy Gray, renowned for her uniquely raspy voice and one of the most recognisable vocalists of our time, released her debut album On How Life Is in 1999.
To mark this milestone, she is embarking on a special anniversary tour, which will once again bring her to Zagreb.
Though she initially wrote songs for a friend, it became clear that a new star was born the moment she performed her own music and released her debut album. She quickly captivated millions of fans worldwide, and the album achieved multi-platinum status.
The second single from the album, I Try, became a breakout hit, earning her widespread recognition and prestigious accolades.
In addition to appearing in numerous films and TV series and climbing the Billboard charts, the song won her the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

The album On How Life Is also produced two other major hit singles, Still and Why Didn’t You Call Me. With this tour, the incomparable queen of soul will celebrate the album’s legacy with fans across the globe.
Throughout her career, Macy Gray has collaborated with a range of iconic musicians, including Fatboy Slim and the Black Eyed Peas.
Her second studio album, The Id, featured Sweet Baby, a track with guest appearances from John Frusciante of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Erykah Badu. She also contributed to Carlos Santana’s album with the song Amoré (Sexo).
Macy Gray has recorded numerous tracks for film soundtracks, with one of the most famous being Cell Block Tango / He Had It Comin’ from Chicago. Her signature voice, combined with her exceptional sensitivity, lyrical talent, and willingness to experiment with genres, has left a lasting mark on the music industry. While best known for her soul and R&B sound, she has seamlessly incorporated elements of retro disco and hip-hop into her music, proving that artistry knows no boundaries.
Over a career spanning more than two decades, Macy Gray has released over 20 albums. Her second album, The Id, topped the charts, while later hits such as When I See You (The Trouble with Being Myself, 2003), Beauty in the World, and Lately (The Sellout, 2010) further cemented her status. The queen of soul released her latest album, The Reset, in 2023, which she also promoted to Zagreb audiences.
