Less than 12 hours after helping his club Real Madrid to a 2-1 win over Celta Vigo in Spain’s La Liga, Croatian midfielder Luka Modrić was in a Zagreb suburb taking in a second division match…
Modrić was in the suburb of Rudeš where he was watching the second division match between NK Rudeš and Solin. NK Rudeš is coached by former Dinamo Zagreb, Liverpool and Croatia midfielder Igor Bišćan and Modrić was not the only name in the stands on Sunday. Former internationals Tomislav Šokota, Silvio Marić and Hrvoje Čale also popped along to watch, but it was Modrić who was the star of the day posing for photos for the kids.
Liverpool TV were also in Zagreb filming a story about their former player, who wore the red shirt from 2000 to 2005.
The crew tracked Bišćan as he prepared his side to take on Solin on Sunday. Bišćan’s NK Rudeš side won the match 1-0.
