Lottery Of Life: Croatia Ranked 46th On Best Place To Be Born List

Croatia has been ranked middle of the road when it comes to the best country for a baby to be born in 2013. The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), a sister company of The Economist, has compiled a list of the nations they say will provide the best opportunities for a healthy, safe and prosperous life in the years ahead.

Croatia came in a joint 46th place with Hungry out of the 80 nations that were ranked. Croatia was seen as a luckier place to be born in than countries such as China, South Africa, Turkey, India, Serbia and Indonesia.

The rankings are based on 11 indicators from such things as life satisfaction surveys, policies, trust in public institutions, crime, demography and many social and cultural characteristics.Switzerland was ranked number one, with Australia, Norway, Sweden and Denmark making up the top 5.
