ZAGREB, 3 June 2026 – LOT Polish Airlines celebrated today, at the passenger terminal of Zagreb Airport, the 10th anniversary of the reestablishment of the direct flights between the two capitals, Warsaw and Zagreb.
This route is one of the key air links between Poland and Croatia.
Although LOT Airlines operated flights between Poland and Croatia in various periods of its long history, direct services on the Warsaw–Zagreb route existed even before 2016, reflecting the longstanding aviation and tourism ties between the two countries.
The reintroduced route in 2016 restored this important connection and has since become an essential part of LOT’s regional network.
Over the past decade, regular flights between the two capitals have supported strong growth in both business and leisure travel, while Warsaw has become an important transfer hub for Croatian passengers travelling onward to intercontinental destinations.
A celebration event was held at the passenger terminal, at the departure gate for the Warsaw flight:
“The tenth anniversary of the resumption of direct flights between Warsaw and Zagreb marks an important milestone for LOT Polish Airlines. Over the past decade, this route has played a significant role in strengthening connectivity between Poland and Croatia, while providing passengers with convenient access to LOT’s extensive network via our Warsaw hub.

The continued demand for this service is reflected in the steady growth of our capacity. In the summer 2026 season, LOT operates up to 12–13 flights per week between Warsaw and Zagreb, while the number of seats offered on the route has increased from 97,004 in 2024 to 108,782 in 2025 and will reach 115,844 in 2026.
This consistent increase in capacity reflects the strength of demand and the growing importance of the Croatian market within LOT’s network. As we continue to develop our network and transfer offering, Zagreb remains an important destination within LOT’s regional portfolio and a key market in Central and Southeast Europe”- stated Robert Ludera, Board Member, Chief Commercial Officer, LOT Polish Airlines.
