Live nativity pageant takes place in Istrian town of Sv. Lovrec

Nativity scene

ZAGREB, Dec 27 (Hina) – Residents of the Istrian town of Sveti Lovrec on Wednesday evening organised their annual outdoor live nativity presentation with a few hundred participants taking part in the event.

Sveti Lovrec, one the best preserved medieval fortified towns in Istria, boasts the largest recreation of a live nativity scene in Croatia.

The presentation of the live nativity in this town is also scheduled for 30 December and 6 January.

During the Christmas holidays, guest and tourists can visit the scene and get an insight into medieval crafts, such as blacksmiths, carpentry, broom-making, beekeeping, herb collectors and so on.

Apart from this Istrian town, other towns in Croatia prepare the presentation of the live nativity scenes during the Christmas holidays.

In the capital city of Zagreb, members of the Cenacolo association stage a living nativity scene in Kaptol in front of the Cathedral to re-enact the atmosphere surrounding Jesus’ birth.
