Strolling through Degen street on a cloudy and rainy Zagreb afternoon yesterday one couldn’t find a single reason to look up in the sky. Anyway, one Croatia Week reader did look up and this was what they saw. A string of similar sized men’s shoes hanging on a powerline. Who put them there, when and why? Was it the work of a revenge seeking wife throwing away her serial adulterer husband’s footwear, or just a guy who decided to renew his footwear collection, or is it some form of civil protest? If anyone has any information, or persumptions, to assist please help Croatia Week solve the mystery of Degen street.
