First thing most tourists associate Croatia with is the beautiful coast, beaches and pristine sea. You can not blame them as Croatia’s coast is one of the most stunning in the world. One region in Croatia which will this year try to attract tourists away from the coast is Lika…

Lika, roughly bound by the Velebit mountain from the southwest and the Plješevica mountain from the northeast in inland Croatia, has stepped up its branding as a destination for adrenaline tourism.

‘Lika is Adventure’ is a project which has seen a number of tourism businesses in the region unite to strengthen tourism offerings. The only cave park in Croatia, Grabovača Cave Park, Rizvan City, and Linden Tree Retreat & Ranch, an exclusive ranch on Velebit mountain which offers horse riding, trekking, hiking, mountaineering and more, have signed an agreement to collaborate to present their tourism offerings in the ‘Lika is Adventure’ project to attract more tourists to the wonderful region.

“Lika today can and must offer a superior tourism product and be a step ahead of the game. Lika must follow current trends, but also create new ones. We are committed to create an offer which does not yet exist in Croatia, and one which the specific population of adrenaline tourists recognise. The nature where we are can not be measured by any other region or location in Croatia. Here adrenaline is possible in the full sense of the word, and that’s what we will achieve, ” said director of Grabovača Cave Park Katarina Milković.

It is not just adrenaline Lika is offering through the project. There will also be a focus of the region’s nature, cultural, historical and gastronomic offerings. The project aims to cement Lika’s place on the adrenaline tourism map.
