Lee Tamahori: I love Dalmatia, I Would Love To Film There

Famous Hollywood director Lee Tamahori has told a Croatian newspaper of his desire to shoot a film on Croatia’s ‘beautiful’ Croatian coast.

The New Zealand born part Maori director, famous for directing the 2002 James Bond film Die Another Day and cult New Zealand film Once Were Warriors, was talking to daily Slobodna Dalmacija at the Cannes Film Festival in France.

“I love Dalmatia. The Adriatic sea is beautiful. I have spent a lot of time in Split, and on the islands, Brac, Hvar and Korcula. I would love to film something there, maybe it will happen, who knows,’ said Tamahori, who is at Cannes promoting his new film “Emperor” which will begin filming at locations around Europe in autumn.

Tamahori knows Croatia very well, he was dating Croatian actress Sasha Turjak in the early 2000’s and reportedly purchased some property just outside of Zagreb.
