LATEST: Croatia confirms 657 COVID-19 cases, 5 deaths, 49 recoveries

ZAGREB, March 28 (Hina) – Twenty-two new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Croatia on Saturday and the disease claimed its fifth victim, the national civil protection authority said at its afternoon press conference.

“Since 9 this morning, we have 22 patients positive for COVID-19, which puts the total number of positive patients at 657,” Health Minister Vili Beros said.

Over than past 24 hours, that is 71 more patients, which is a certain decrease in comparison with Friday and Thursday, he added.

A total of 5,215 patients have been tested, 277 since this morning.

“There are five deaths in total,” Beros said, adding that the latest casualty was a middle-aged patient with hypertension.

Forty-nine patients have recovered, four more than this morning, he said.
