Karlovac: Learn about Advent and Christmas history in the city on four rivers

For the end of this unusual year, the Association of Tourist Guides “Bastion” and the Tourist Board of the City of Karlovac have prepared specially designed thematic tours of Karlovac’s Zvijezda. 

The tours will be an opportunity to get to know slightly different stories from the city’s past.

Visitors and locals of Karlovac have the opportunity to join the Advent and Christmas tours of Zvijezda and discover how the holidays were once celebrated in the city on four rivers. 

“Our guides will tell how in ancient times the city was decorated at the time of Advent, what decorations were placed on the Christmas tree, what was served on the holiday table, how it was prepared for midnight. With the holiday atmosphere and festive attire of Karlovac, there will be no shortage of souvenirs and interesting photo corners for the most beautiful holiday photos,” organisers said.

The interesting and instructive tours end with the Franciscans of Karlovac who are preparing a surprise for visitors.

One-hour tours are scheduled for Saturdays December 12, 19, and 26, and on January 2, 2021, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Katzler Pavilion.
