Joe Satriani and Steve Vai announce exclusive Croatia concert

ŠIBENIK, 12 March 2025 – Two of the greatest guitarists of all time, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, are coming to Croatia this summer.

For the first time ever, the duo is performing as a band under the name SatchVai, and their European tour will include an exclusive concert at the stunning St. Michael’s Fortress in Šibenik on Friday, 1 August 2025.

A Celebration of Guitar Mastery

Satriani and Vai have been musical friends for nearly five decades, and their Surfing The Hydra tour will be a celebration of their incredible journey together.

The Šibenik concert will mark the grand finale of their two-month European tour.

The show will be divided into three parts—each guitarist will perform a solo set before joining forces for an unforgettable jam session to close the night.

“I’m excited to share the stage with Steve again. Every time we play together, it takes me back to when we were teenagers, learning and pushing each other to be better musicians,” said Satriani.

“Touring with Joe is always an honour and a joy. He’s my favourite guitarist to jam with, and now we get to do it in front of a live audience. We both feel like we’re at the top of our game, and this show will be a true celebration of the greatest instrument in the world—the electric guitar,” added Vai.

A Lifetime of Music

Satriani and Vai’s careers have been intertwined from the start. Vai was just 12 years old when he began taking guitar lessons from Satriani.

Over the years, Satriani has become one of the best-selling instrumental rock guitarists of all time, with over 10 million albums sold and 15 Grammy nominations.

He has toured the world, led the legendary G3 project, and performed in the supergroup Chickenfoot.

Vai, a three-time Grammy winner, has sold over 15 million albums and played alongside legends like Frank Zappa, David Lee Roth, and Whitesnake. Recognised as one of the world’s greatest guitarists, he has also written a book on music theory, Vaideology: Basic Music Theory for Guitar Players.

This is the first time Satriani and Vai are touring as a band, making their Šibenik concert a must-see event. St. Michael’s Fortress, one of Croatia’s most beautiful open-air venues, will provide the perfect setting for a night of rock guitar magic.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, 14 March, at 12:00 PM. Early bird tickets are priced at €73 and will be available through Core Event and Eventim, as well as in Zagreb at Dirty Old Shop and Rockmark.
