Jimmy Carr to be first stand-up comedian to perform at Pula Arena

British comedianJimmy Carr is set to become the first stand-up comedian in the world to perform at the iconic Pula Arena.

Carr will take the stage at the Roman amphitheatre in Pula on Wednesday, 29 July, delivering an open-air stand-up performance under the stars at one of Europe’s most spectacular historic venues.

Carr will perform in Istria as part of his international tour.

Carr’s international reputation has been cemented through four Netflix stand-up specials, and he made history as the first British comedian to sign an exclusive deal with Netflix.

His success on the platform has led to regular appearances on television programmes, including The Tonight Show, The Late Late Show and Late Night with Conan O’Brien.

His most recent tour, Terribly Funny, attracted over 1.2 million people across 45 countries, making it the largest international stand-up tour in history.

The tour included sold-out performances in Zagreb, Belgrade, Ljubljana, Skopje and Sarajevo.

The Pula Arena performance promises a rare opportunity to experience stand-up comedy in a setting more commonly associated with ancient history and major music spectacles.

The show will be performed entirely in English, without simultaneous translation, and is not recommended for audiences under 16 years of age.

Tickets are available via entrio.hr.

Jimmy Carr’s appearance in Pula is being brought to Croatia by Aquarius Records, in collaboration with Spindrift Promotions.

The organisers have previously delivered some of the biggest names in contemporary stand-up and spoken word to Croatia and the wider region, including Daniel Sloss, Dylan Moran, Bob the Drag Queen, Tommy Tiernan, Eddie Izzard and Kai Humphries, as well as renowned speakers Professor Brian Cox and astronaut Chris Hadfield.
