Jadrolinija extends new Zadar–Ancona fast ferry service after strong demand

RIJEKA, 31 August 2026 – Jadrolinija has extended its new international Zadar–Ancona fast ferry service until 6 September following strong passenger interest during its first season.

The extension provides additional opportunities to travel directly between Croatia and Italy across the Adriatic, with extra sailings scheduled on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the company said today in a statement.

The new route was introduced this year as a direct international connection between Zadar and Ancona, with the crossing taking approximately four hours.

The service is operated by Jadrolinija’s fast ferry Jelena, which has capacity for up to 400 passengers.

Jadrolinija said the first season had produced positive results and demonstrated interest in fast, direct and convenient connections between the two Adriatic coasts.

The extended season also offers passengers the possibility of making a last-minute trip or short break in Italy before the end of the summer season.

Promotional ticket prices are currently available, with an adult ticket costing €80, while children aged three to 12 travel for €40.

Tickets can be purchased online through Jadrolinija’s website and via the mJadrolinija mobile application.

The extension comes as demand for direct maritime connections across the Adriatic remains an important part of Croatia’s international transport and tourism links with Italy.
