Incredible success of Croatian Desserts cookbook – first print run sells out in 5 days

Andrea Pisac, author of the new Croatian Desserts cookbook in English

By the time Croatian Desserts cookbook was officially launched in Zagreb earlier this month, the entire first print run had sold out.

“I knew the book was going to be a success because I am in touch with my readers and their feedback was extremely positive. We are lucky we were able to order the second printing in such a short time”, said the book’s author Andrea Pisac.

Now the new edition has arrived and it’s ready to be shipped worldwide. Pisac, who has meticulously collected and recreated the recipes, is a doctor of anthropology and in love with everything small scale.

“From the outset, the aim of this project was to keep the Croatian tradition alive, and that meant keeping things within a family; small and cosy”, Andrea commented.

She and her closest team do everything, from picking, packing and posting books, to keeping in touch with people and answering all their inquiries.

“The biggest success of this cookbook is the praise I get from people who have already received it”, says Andrea. “It means the world to me knowing that my cookbook is helping people reconnect with their Croatian heritage. I have received countless emails from people who tell me they can now bake desserts that their moms or grandmas made for them.”

“Many people ordered more copies after receiving their book”, Andrea says. “They said the book looked great on the photo but was even more impressive when they leafed through it.”
