American multinational technology and consulting corporation IBM will open a Client Innovation Centre in the Croatian capital Zagreb next year, technical Prime Minister Tihomir Orešković has confirmed…

IBM will open a Client Innovation Centre in Zagreb in the Spring of 2017, creating around 500 new jobs. IBM are currently searching for a location in the capital for the new centre. IBM Croatia Director Damir Zec says that the jobs will be created in stages.

“IBM has been present in Croatia for more than 20 years and the decision to expand the business right here, through a new center that will meet the needs of users around the world, was made because of the location, the business environment and the labour market here,”said Zec.

Commenting on the decision made by IBM to open the centre in Croatia, Orešković said it was a big day for Croatia and shows that the country can be competitive and sends a positive message to investors.

“Creating high quality IT jobs is a priority for our economy, and in addition it is important to we can show other investors that IBM have decided to invest here,” said Orešković.
