Historic Underwater Park Opens In Mali Losinj

Former Croatian diving champion Magda Milas has formally opened the Historic Underwater Park in the bay of Cikat in Mali Losinj on the western island of Losinj on Wednesday.

Local officials said that the underwater park, unique to Croatia, provides an ideal opportunity to connect and promote sport, tourism and the natural and cultural history of the area. Visitors to the Historic Underwater Park in Mali Losinj will have the opportunity get to know both the sport of diving and the history of the underwater world at the same time with attractions at depths of between 4 and 12 metres. The underwater park, which covers 300 square metres, will also act as an exhibition centre for underwater photographs. The project was made possible by funding it received from the Ministry of Tourism’s “Innovative Tourism” grant programme. (pic: www.pgz.hr)
