Half a Million Croats Looking for Love Online

More than half a million Croats are turning to their computers to find love via online dating sites, reports daily Croatian newspaper Vecernji list.

The number of registered users on Croatia’s most popular dating site, Iskrica, has hit 400,000 and the numbers are continuing to grow.

“I am settled, intellectual, single and fuller figured. Chatting with men on websites and getting to know them is fun,” a dating site user in her late 40’s told the newspaper.

With hectic lifestyles and a reluctance to hit the bars in search for a soul mate, meeting perspective partners with just a few clicks on the computer is starting to appeal to a large number of Croats.

“In one month I contacted more than a thousand women, but not one fulfilled my expectations,” said one of the unlucky users who has yet to find his soul mate.
