Hajduk Split says it is reviewing offer from WhiteBIT

HNK Hajduk Split has issued a statement addressing widespread media reports and public speculation surrounding a potential partnership with cryptocurrency company WhiteBIT.

The club said it decided to clarify the situation to provide members, supporters and the wider public with an accurate understanding of the proposal after reports in recent days focused on financial figures without the full context.

According to Hajduk, it received its first and only official proposal from WhiteBIT on 23 June.

The club explained that, like many long-term commercial partnerships, the offer consists of a guaranteed fixed component and a significantly larger variable component. Hajduk said the projected value of the variable element depends on a number of future conditions, targets and circumstances that are not guaranteed to be achieved.

While declining to disclose financial details out of respect for the other party, Hajduk stressed that the guaranteed fixed amount does not match the overall valuation that has been widely reported in the media.

The club warned that presenting figures without context makes it more difficult to objectively assess the proposal and could negatively affect its business relationships and reputation.

Hajduk also emphasised that it has existing agreements and stable relationships with its current commercial partners, which it fully respects. Any new partnership, it said, must not conflict with existing contractual obligations or undermine the club’s business credibility.

The Split club said it approaches all long-term partnerships carefully and responsibly, adding that while financial considerations are important, they are not the sole deciding factor.

As a club jointly owned by its members, Hajduk said it has a responsibility to protect their long-term interests, the club’s governance, identity and the rights of its members and supporters.

It added that any potential agreement must also address issues including the protection of members’ and supporters’ personal data, preservation of the club’s values and integrity, the use of the Hajduk brand and intellectual property, the scope of commercial rights, and all relevant legal and regulatory considerations.

Hajduk confirmed that the proposal will continue through its standard internal evaluation process. The club said it will contact WhiteBIT representatives to seek further clarification and information, including the possibility of holding a meeting, as previously indicated in its initial response to the proposal.

The club said any decision on possible next steps will only be made after all legal, financial, strategic and value-based aspects have been thoroughly assessed by the relevant club bodies.

Hajduk concluded by urging the public to treat unofficial reports and speculation with caution, adding that any official decisions will be communicated through the club’s official channels.
