Government’s e-Citizen Online Project to Make Bureaucracy Smoother

Croatia1Waiting in long queues and being sent from pillar to post for one form after another should be a thing of the past for many in Croatia after the government launched its latest project – e-građani (e-citizens)…

The newly launched web portal will enable users to have their very own personalised electronic mailbox to communicate with the entire state administration system. The aim of the project is to make such things as filing tax returns, checking spatial plans and registering births possible online via the portal.

The online portal will even tap into the school directories and enable parents to track the progress of their kids at school without having to go to the school for the information. The information service will also provide information on such things as when ones passport is about to expire and where is their closest polling booth. The aim is to increase the function of the portal in the future and make more administrative duties available online.
