Minister of Entrepreneurship Gordan Maras told the media on Tuesday that a law will soon be passed which will mean money sitting on inactive bank accounts can be collected by the government. Maras says that the money will be put into a fund which will help the development of entrepreneurship. The idea is based on a model used in Ireland, where the state ‘nationalizes’ such money.

The law is set to money sitting on bank accounts inactive for 6 years or more go into the fund. Around 115 million euros could potentially be collected from dormant accounts now, according to media reports.
