PARIS, 30 May 2019 – Borna Ćorić is through to the last 32 of the 2019 French Open, whilst countryman Ivo Karlović has been knocked out on Thursday at Roland-Garros.

The 22-year-old Croatian, who is the tournament’s 13th seed, beat South African Lloyd Harris today in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3, 7-6 in just over 2 hours.

Ćorić broke his opponent twice in the opening set to set the tone for the rest of the match. He was never really threatened in the match and hit 5 aces, made 27 unforced errors and won almost 80% of points on first serve.

Next up for Ćorić is world number 44, Jan-Lennard Struff from Germany.

Meanwhile, after setting records on Tuesday for being the oldest man to win a match at the French Open in 45 years, 40-year-old Karlović was knocked out by Australian Jordan Thompson this afternoon.

Thompson, who is 15 years younger than Karlović, raced out to a two sets to love lead before Karlović came back to take the third set. He was unable to complete a comeback and eventually went down 6-3, 6-4, 6-7, 6-3.

Donna Vekić and Petra Martić will both be 3rd round action on Friday.
