Four Croatian beaches make the list

Croatia has once again cemented its place as a top European beach destination, with four of its stunning coastal gems included in the World’s 50 Best Beaches: Europe list for 2025.

The annual list, curated by The World’s 50 Best Beaches, is based on the votes of over 1,000 vetted travel professionals, including industry experts and high-profile influencers.

Their insights ensure that the rankings reflect genuine, first-hand beach experiences rather than simple online popularity.

Croatian beaches shine

Leading the way for Croatia is Pasjača Beach, ranked 22nd. Tucked away south of the village of Popovići in the Konavle region, around 30 km from Dubrovnik, this dramatic beach lies at the foot of steep cliffs where the mountains meet the Adriatic.

Its secluded nature and untouched beauty continue to capture the imagination of visitors and judges alike.

Next on the list is the iconic Zlatni Rat in Bol on the island of Brač, placed at number 32. Known for its unique horn-like shape that shifts with the wind and tides, Zlatni Rat remains one of Croatia’s most recognisable and photographed natural landmarks.

Europe’s top beaches revealed

Topping the Europe list was Cala Goloritzé in Italy, followed by Fteri Beach and Voutoumi Beach, both in Greece.

On a global scale, Cala Goloritzé was also crowned Best Beach in the World for 2025. The Philippines’ Entalula Beach and Thailand’s Bang Bao Beach rounded out the global top three.

“Our 2025 list is the result of countless days spent by our judges, Beach Ambassadors, and the World’s 50 Best team exploring coastlines across the globe,” said Tine Holst, Co-Founder of The World’s 50 Best Beaches.

Beaches were assessed using eight key criteria, including natural beauty, wildlife, peaceful atmosphere, water conditions, and overall uniqueness.
