ZAGREB, March 20 (Hina) – Croatia has called on all its citizens currently abroad who intend to return home to do so as soon as possible due to possible disruptions in air traffic caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

If Croatian citizens find themselves in a situation that regular air traffic has been disrupted, they can contact the relevant Croatian embassy or consular office in the country they are located in, the ministry said on Friday.

The ministry warned that due to the COVID-19 pandemic airlines have been known to cancel international flights without prior notice.

Anyone located in countries where commercial flights and other modes of transport are still available, should return to Croatia if they do not plan to spend any extended time in the country they are currently in, the ministry said.

In the countries where Croatia does not have diplomatic representation, citizens can contact the EU delegation in that country, the ministry added.

The Croatian diplomatic missions are working on repatriating Croatian citizens, often in cooperation with other EU member states, the ministry said.
