Zagreb’s much-loved international flower show, Floraart, returns to Bundek Park from 8–11 May for its 59th edition.

Under the slogan “Krenimo cvijeću ususret” (“Let’s meet the flowers”), the exhibition brings together 28 international exhibitors and over 100 local flower growers, making it the largest horticultural event in the region.

Organised by Zagrebački Holding – Zrinjevac and the City of Zagreb, Floraart serves not only as a visual delight but also as a key support platform for Croatia’s floral industry, helping local growers connect with both local and global markets.

What to Expect at Floraart 2025

Throughout the four-day event, visitors can enjoy:

• Spectacular floral installations scattered across Bundek Park and inside the exhibition dome.
• Over 100 stalls selling flowers, seedlings, and gardening products.
• Free workshops (from 9–11 May), covering various topics in gardening and flower arranging. Registration details are available on the Floraart website.
• Special programmes for children, including theatre performances by Teatar Poco Loco and creative kids’ workshops.

On Friday, 9 May, Floraart will also host a professional conference titled “The Role of Green Infrastructure and Natural Heritage in Preserving Croatian Identity and Building a Sustainable Future”.

Experts from academia and industry will discuss themes related to horticulture, sustainability, and environmental planning.

Floral Prep Behind the Scenes

The preparation for this year’s event has been in full swing for months. Zrinjevac employees began planting in late April, carefully positioning over 70,000 flowers across a 1,800 m² area of Bundek Park.

Seasonal blooms such as snapdragons, cannas, dusty miller, and impatiens have been nurtured for five months in Zrinjevac greenhouses before being transferred to the park.

“Zrinjevac produces around 350,000 seasonal flower seedlings annually to decorate the city during the warmer months,” explained Božena Cvitanović, head of the Zrinjevac branch. “Our landscape architects design unique floral beds each year, carefully integrating them with this year’s exhibitor installations.”

Competitions and Community Spirit

The opening day, 8 May, will feature the Croatian Florist Cup, a traditional flower arranging competition, as well as a student competition for secondary school pupils.
