First Field Hockey Match to be Played in Split in 36 Years

Newly formed Split club Spartanac will host 11-time Croatian champions Mladost at Poljud stadium (training pitches) at 8pm on Friday. Not since the Mediterranean Games in 1979 has a field hockey match been played in Split.

“This is a big occasion, a historic day for our club, this games opens the door for field hockey in Split. Our goal is to introduce field hockey to Split, to promote the sport and to start gathering experienced players,” said Nikola Barbarić from Spartanac.
