Fire At Croatia’s Oldest Marina, Dozens Of Boats Up In Flames

At least 20 boats have gone up in flames at the oldest marina in Croatia, Punat Marina on the island of Krk in the northern Adriatic.

The fire started at around 6:15am on Saturday morning  reports daily newspaper Vecernji list, after three strong explosions were heard. Witnesses at the scene say that at least 20 boats went up in flames as the fire ripped through the historic marina.

Firefighters had to battle with strong winds as the fire forced the closure of the main road towards Punat. At around 10am the fire was reportedly put out.
