FIFA releases latest rankings: Argentina new No. 1, Croatia holds spot

Croatia holds spot in latest FIFA rankings released today

ZAGREB, 6 April 2023 – Argentina is the new number one ranked team in the world, overtaking Brazil, after the latest FIFA rankings were released today. 

It was the first time in more than six years that Argentina is back on top of the rankings.

A 1-1 draw against Wales and a 2-0 win over Turkey in March in 2024 Euro qualifiers saw Croatia ranked 7th in the world on the rankings.

This is the same ranking Croatia had back in December after the World Cup in Qatar. 

Croatia has 1730.02 points, just the Netherlands in 6th spot which has 1731. 23. 

Croatia will face the Netherlands next in June in the semi-final of the UEFA Nations League. 

The Central African Republic enjoyed the biggest jump in the latest rankings, climbing 10 places after successive victories.

Croatia has a chance The next FIFA World Ranking will be published on 20 July 2023.
