Festival of Lights in Zagreb postponed

ZAGREB, 6 March 2020 – The Festival of Lights, which was set to take place this month, has been postponed. 

From March 18th till March 22nd, the Croatian capital Zagreb was set host the fourth edition of the Festival of Lights but organisers announced today that it will not be going ahead as planned.

“According to the governing authorities’ instructions and recommendations, the fourth Festival of Lights Zagreb, which was scheduled for 18–22 March, has been postponed until October. Zagreb Tourist Board is actively monitoring the situation regarding the coronavirus and adapts all its activities accordingly. ZTB will decide on the new Festival dates after all conditions for the event to take place have been met, without any risk to visitors’ health and safety,” organisers said in a statement. 

The theme of this year’s festival was to be spring, which symbolises the awakening, growth and renaissance, and each of the locations was evoke the springtime through light performances.

The aim of the Festival of Lights Zagreb is for it to be a perennial tourist product with the aim of generating greater tourist traffic outside the main tourist season.
