Mountain House Skrad in Gorski Kotar

Gorski Kotar is a mountainous region located in the heart of Croatia. It is just river Kupa that is dividing it from Slovenia on the north side of the region and if you are travelling from the south, before you enter Gorski Kotar you will go through Lika.

On the west side, there is the beautiful city of Rijeka located 44 km away from the center of Gorski Kotar. Zagreb, the capital city is only 124 km away which is an hour and a half if you decide to take the motorway which makes Gorski Kotar a very important part of Croatia as it is connected perfectly with all the other regions.

However, instead of being important as a transit region, Gorski Kotar has a lot more to offer for people traveling through the region. In case you missed it, Gorski Kotar can easily amaze you in any time of year. In winter it offers numerous possibilities of enjoining in the snow, during spring discover the nature by taking a walk down the canyon of river Kupa and Zeleni vir or you can visit canyon Kamacnik.

“You can feel on your own skin how it is to sleep on hay and wake up in the middle of nature with a beautiful view of the mountains of Gorski Kotar. If you are lucky, from the terrace you will see roe and rabbits so do not forget your camera. Our recommendation is to take a bike because only on 10 min away is Zeleni Vir, beach Pritiski and river Kupa.”


The range of activities on offer will work up a hunger for some traditional food. Bistro Tron is the place for you and your family. Tron is a family restaurant offering a number of traditional dishes.
