Osijek, 21 May 2025 – Did you know that one of the slowest trains in Europe operates on the Osijek–Erdut line?

Yesterday, that very train took on a new identity – as the Slow Wine Train – departing Osijek’s main station on a unique wine-themed journey.

Organised by the Osijek-Baranja County Tourist Board, the event marked the county’s prestigious title of RECEVIN Dionysus European Wine Region for 2025.

It also served to launch the Wine Month of Osijek-Baranja County and unveil the third edition of the destination magazine Via Slavonija i Baranja.

Guiding the experience was esteemed Osijek wine expert Damir Zrno, who led tastings aboard the train. Guests sipped on fine wines while enjoying carefully curated pairings of local cheeses, nuts, and fruits from the Danube region.
