With the Easter weekend approaching, traffic has intensified at many border crossings across Croatia, particularly at exit points towards neighbouring countries.

Many residents are taking advantage of the extended holiday weekend to travel, leading to long queues and significant delays for both passenger vehicles and freight transport. Authorities warn that traffic is expected to remain heavy throughout the day and into the evening.

According to the Croatian Automobile Club (HAK), waiting times vary depending on the crossing, with some drivers facing delays of several hours.

At the Stara Gradiška border crossing, vehicles entering Croatia are waiting up to 30 minutes. However, delays are significantly longer for those leaving the country, with passenger vehicles waiting around five hours and freight vehicles up to three hours.

At Gunja, waiting times are up to 30 minutes in both directions for passenger vehicles.

In Slavonski Brod, vehicles entering Croatia face waits of up to 30 minutes, while those leaving the country experience delays of around one hour for both passenger and freight vehicles.

Traffic is also busy at Jasenovac, where there are no delays for vehicles entering Croatia, but passenger vehicles leaving the country face waits of around one hour.

Meanwhile, at Hrvatska Dubica and Hrvatska Kostajnica, there are currently no delays for vehicles entering Croatia, although passenger vehicles exiting the country are waiting up to 30 minutes.

One of the longest waits is reported at Bajakovo, on the border with Serbia. There are no delays for vehicles entering Croatia, but passenger vehicles leaving the country are waiting around two hours. Freight vehicles are experiencing the longest delays, with waiting times reaching up to six hours.

Drivers are advised to remain patient, plan their journeys carefully and monitor live traffic updates as congestion is expected to continue during the busy Easter travel period.
