Dinamo Zagreb win the Croatian Super Cup

ZAGREB, 14 July 2019 – Croatian league champions Dinamo Zagreb have now added the Croatian Super Cup to their trophy cabinet.

Dinamo Zagreb beat Rijeka 1-0 on Saturday evening at Maksimir stadium in Zagreb to lift the Croatian Super Cup, a traditional match played between the winners of the Croatian league and cup.

Dinamo Zagreb were league champions last season, whilst Rijeka won the Croatian cup, defeating Dinamo Zagreb in the final. Tonight the honours went to the home side thanks to a 42nd minute strike from Amer Gojak.

Dinamo Zagreb have now won the Super Cup six times (2002, ’03, ’06, ’10, ’13, ’19), whilst Rijeka remain on one win (2014).

The Croatian first division kicks off next weekend.
