With agents from clubs such as Manchester City, Porto and Real Madrid knocking on the door, one of Croatia’s next big football stars makes a decision on his immediate future…
18-year-old Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Ante Ćorić met with club officials in Zagreb on Tuesday where it was decided that the player would not be going anywhere in the January window.
“Today we sat down and talked openly. We agreed on everything. The club has promised me better treatment and that is all I was looking for. Now I know that I will play here and become an important member of the team. I am very happy with the outcome. We sorted everything out,” Ćorić told Goal.com.
Despite interest from big European clubs, including a visit from Real Madrid agents to Zagreb last month, Ćorić has decided that he would remain at Dinamo Zagreb.
“Who would not be happy that Real and Chelsea are calling? But, I am aware that at this moment I would not play there, and I would probably be loaned out to a smaller club, in a weaker league maybe. I think this is the smartest decision,” he added.
Ćorić is contracted to Dinamo until 2020.
