Kyiv, 12 February 2020 – Dinamo Zagreb U19s have advanced through to the last 16 in the UEFA Youth League after a dramatic victory over Dynamo Kyiv in Kyiv on Wednesday.

After both sides were locked at 0-0 after 90 minutes, the Croatians would win a tense penalty shoot-out 4-3 to advance to the last 16 of the elite youth competition in Europe.

Dinamo will learn their opponents in the last 16 on Friday when the draw is made. Dinamo will face one of the seven group winners – Real Madrid, Bayern München, Juventus, Liverpool, Inter, Benfica or Ajax.

The UEFA Youth League is contested by the youth (under-19) teams of the clubs competing in the UEFA Champions League group stage, plus the domestic youth champions of the best-ranked national associations.

Dinamo Zagreb will be hoping to improve on last season’s performance when they reached the quarterfinals. They were eventually knocked-out by Chelsea on penalties.
