ZAGREB, 19 May (Hina) – Croatian long-distance swimmer Dina Levačić has been inducted into the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame (IMSHOF), located on the island of Jersey in the United Kingdom.

Levačić is the first Croatian woman to be honoured as a swimmer and inducted into the IMSHOF.

This prestigious accolade has previously been awarded to only three others from Croatia: swimmer Veljko Rogošić (1998), administrator Vicko Šoljan (2007), and the Faros Marathon (2012, as an organisation).

It is a great honour for both Levačić’s name and the Croatian flag to once again appear among the ranks of remarkable individuals recognised by this distinguished institution, affirming her outstanding achievements in the sport.

The induction is one of the highest global honours a marathon swimmer can receive and represents a major personal milestone.

“This is a tremendous honour that celebrates the past 20 years of my work, dedication and sacrifices in open-water swimming. I hope to enjoy at least another 20 years of swimming adventures and sharing memories with those dearest to me,” Levačić said after the ceremony.

Levačić is renowned for her remarkable achievements in open water swimming. She is the only Croatian to conquer the Oceans Seven challenge and has completed the demanding Triple Crown.

She also made history as the first to swim the Robben Island route in South Africa. Most recently, she finished a unique feat—swimming around 104 Dalmatian islands.
