Croatian synth-pop pioneers Denis & Denis to perform one last time

After almost 45 years at the forefront of the regional music scene, Croatian synth-pop pioneers Denis & Denis have announced their farewell tour, marking the end of one of the most influential and enduring careers in South-East European pop music.

The iconic duo, keyboardist Davor Tolja and vocalist Marina Perazić, confirmed that the tour, titled “Posljednji program tvog kompjutera” (The Last Program of Your Computer), will be their final series of live performances, after which they will no longer perform together.

Few groups from the region can genuinely be described as timeless, but Denis & Denis stand as a rare exception.

Emerging in the early 1980s, they were among the true pioneers of electro and synth-pop in the region, laying the foundations for a sound that would shape generations of artists to come.

What sets Denis & Denis apart is not only their innovation but their longevity. Across more than four decades, they have remained relevant, energetic and consistently respected, retaining a loyal following while influencing new audiences.

Tolja and Perazić began their collaboration in 1982, with their debut album “Čuvaj se” released in 1984. The album made an immediate impact and quickly became a cornerstone of regional pop music.

It earned numerous accolades, including the prestigious Rock magazine award for Album of the Year, and is now widely regarded as one of the most important albums in Croatian popular music history.

Among its nine tracks was “Program tvog kompjutera”, a song that has transcended time to become one of the most recognisable pop songs in the region, even four decades after its release.

Following their debut, Denis & Denis delivered a string of radio and dancefloor classics that defined the era and continue to resonate today. Songs such as: Soba 23, Ja sam lažljiva, Oaze snova, Ti i ja, Telefon and Voli me još ovu noć became staples of regional pop culture and will now be sung live for the final time by the duo that created them.

Final tour dates

• Ljubljana – 14 March (tickets already on sale)

• Rijeka – 28 March (their hometown)

• Zagreb – 10 April (final concert)

The Zagreb performance will mark the official end of Denis & Denis as a live act, closing a chapter that has left an indelible mark on regional music history.

As Denis & Denis prepare to step away from the stage, their legacy remains firmly intact, as innovators, trendsetters and one of the defining pop acts of the last four decades.
