Days of Croatian Pršut to be Held in Šibenik

Some of the best certified Croatian pršut producers will be gathering in the Dalmatian town of Šibenik for ‘Days of Croatian Pršut’ later this month.

The 3rd edition of ‘Days of Croatian Pršut’ dedicated to the popular dried meat delicacy, will be held from 21 – 22 April 2017 at Hotel D-Resort in Šibenik.

The leading Drniš, Krk and Istrian pršut producers, which brands have all been protected at EU level, will gather at the event, which is being organised by Klaster Hrvatskog pršuta. an association which brings together thirty major Croatian producers who together account for over 90 percent of Croatia’s pršut production.

Over 30 certified producers from the Drniš region, Dalmatia, Istria and Kvarner will exhibit at the two-day event.

Presentations will be open to the public and visitors will be able to taste and purchase pršut from the different regions of Croatia, as well as learning about the similarities and differences, and advantages of being certified.


There will also be workshops and roundtables aimed at improving production and business for the industry.

The event will also be interesting for caterers ahead of the tourist season with presentations on how to serve and present pršut, as well as various recipes involving pršut.

D-Resort

The event also has the support of the Šibenik- Knin County and the Tourist Board of Šibenik, and is under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Ms. Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Economy, the Croatian Agricultural Agency and Croatian Chamber of Commerce.
