Šuker was in Manchester this week where he met with England FA and UEFA executive David Gill.

“It was a pleasure to host Davor Šuker at Old Trafford this week and hear his thoughts about the current state of football and how he can add positive change in the future,” said Gill, adding that he will back the former Real Madrid and Arsenal striker in his bid to win a place on UEFA’s Executive Committee.

“Davor’s footballing success speaks for itself – as a respected former player, today he is an experienced official who leads his federation. I will support him next week at the executive committee meeting when we discuss the issue of UEFA board elections,” said Gill.

Šuker also met with legendary Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson and Arsenal’s former executive David Dein whilst he was at Old Trafford.

“I am glad that I had the opportunity to be in such distinguished company – they are people who both in a football and business sense have created the history of the Premier League over the past thirty years, the people whom we can learn a lot from. I thank them for their excellent hospitality and support,” said Šuker.
