Dalmacija Ultra Trail 2018: 800 runners from 40 countries set to take part

Croatia’s stunning rugged Dalmatian coast with glorious mountains and rivers makes it the perfect setting for adventure events. 

Later this month one of the most popular ultra trails will take in Croatia.

Organised by Dalmacija Trails Association, the third Dalmacija Ultra Trail will take place across Dalmatia from 19-21 October 2018. 

More than 800 runners from 40 countries will run four various courses through five mountains, Mosor, Kozjak, Biokovo, Omiska and Dinara, as well as passing rivers Cetina, Jadro and Žrnovnica.

Athletes will also have a chance to pass through some of Dalmatia’s oldest villages and see cultural monuments and famous archaeological sites along the way.

The longest trail – Sky Dut – starts and finishes in Omiš and is 158.1 km. 

The next longest trail – Mountain Dut – starts on Klis and ends in Omiš and is 102.1 km. The next longest is the 52.6 km Sea Dut trail which starts in Makarska and ends in Omiš. 

The shortest trail is the 20 km River Dut trail which starts in Dugi rat and finishes in Omiš. There is also a kids trail.

The Dalmacija Ultra Trail is a combination of running and walking on marked hiking trails and other roads. The event is not only open to professional athletes, but also to recreational runners and even families.
