Cruisers Bringing More Tourists and Staying Longer in Croatia

CroatiaCruise ship tourism in Croatia continues to rise with confirmation that over 800 cruises were in Croatian territorial waters last year…

According to Central Bureau statistics, in 2013 828 cruises visited Croatia, up 3.2% from 2012, bringing in a total of 1.23 million passengers to the country, or 7.2% more than the year previous. Not only were there more cruises in Croatia last year, but they were staying longer also – total days were up 10.2% in 2013.

September was the busiest month, with 134 cruise ships in Croatia, followed by June (119) and October (117). A notable difference than previous years is that cruisers are now coming all year round and not just in the ‘summer season’, with growth in December and January.
