Another rowing gold medal for Croatian brothers Valent and Martin Sinković.

After claiming their first ever World gold in the pairs event, the brothers have won their first European gold on Saturday after winning the Men’s Pairs final at the 2018 European Championships in Glasgow.

French pair Vincent and Thibaut Onfroy led the race for almost start to finish with the Croatians in third place at the 1000m halfway mark but a strong finish saw the Croatians overtake them to win gold.

The Sinković’s finished in a time of 6:26:42. The French pair finished in second with a time of 6:27:40. Romania took bronze in a time of 6:29:39.

After dominating the double sculls discipline and remaining unbeaten for three years, the brothers did something which is rare in the sport of rowing and announced last year they would change classes to compete in the coxless pairs.
