Croatian electric car, batteries, parts and technological solutions entrepreneur Mate Rimac has made this yearʼs MIT 35 European Innovators Under 35 Europe list published by MIT Technology Review magazine.
Rimac was selected by the jury from more than 1,000 candidates with the 35 innovators separated into different categories; entrepreneurs, humanitarian, pioneers, visionaries, and inventors.
Based just outside of Zagreb in Sveta Nedelja, Rimac Automobili has grown to over 400 employees since starting in 2009.
Rimac recently partnered with Seat, Porsche and Pininfarina to develop electric cars after previously working with some major brands like Jaguar, Aston-Martin, Renault, and Mercedes-Benz.
The company’s main focus is on the technology of high voltage batteries, electric powertrains and digital interfaces. Rimac designs and builds electric bicycles in the subsidiary Greyp Bikes.
The European community will meet at the Innovators Under 35 Summit Europe 2018 in Paris on December 4, to recognise and congratulate the work of the 35 winners. See the full list here.
