Croatia’s largest literary event ‘Interliber’ set to start in Zagreb

ZAGREB, 10 November 2019 – The 42nd edition of Interliber international book fair will take place at the Velesajam in Zagreb from 12 – 17 November.

Interliber is the largest literary event in Croatia and a platform for the promotion of books, writers, reading, science and knowledge that brings together the most important publishers and booksellers in the country.

More than 350 exhibitors with present their publications during the 6-day fair with books from various genres and for all ages.

“In a time when trends change almost daily, the need for lifelong learning is more pronounced than ever. Interliber offers the widest range of trade and business literature, textbooks and other aids for further training,” organisers said, before adding.

“The youngest visitors will be led through the colourful world of books by the authors themselves. They will meet their heroes and discover new worlds. Choose a good-night story to read to children. Find something for yourself as well because children learn to love books by watching their parents read.”

Visitors come to Interliber not only looking for new reading material, but also to meet and chat with local and foreign authors, literary readings and workshops, auctions of old books, quiz shows, music programmes, panel discussions and more.

A novelty this year are education fairs for all generations. From 15 – 16 November 2019 the best Croatian and international high schools, colleges, language courses, adult education programmes and additional professional and business education will be presented.

Free admission

Admission to Interliber is free for all visitors. The fair attracts over 130,000 people each year and this year big crowds are again expected.
