Croatia’s Filip Ude, Tin Srbic and Aurel Benovic win silver medals at European gymnastics championships

ZAGREB, Dec 13 (Hina) – Croatian gymnasts Filip Ude, Aurel Benovic and Tin Srbic have won silver medals at the 34th European Men’s Gymnastics Championships in Mersin, Turkey.

Ude (34) claimed silver on the pommel horse, thus repeating his result from 2008, while Robert Seligman won fourth place in the same discipline.

Ude is a former Olympic medalist and adds this to the silver medal he won in the final of the men’s pommel horse at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

Ude also has won a silver medal at the 2014 World Champs and 2008 European Champs.

Aurel Benovic (20), too, won silver, in the floor exercise. This was his first European championship. Tin Srbic on Sunday also claimed for the second time silver in the horizontal bar.

This was the most successful European championship for Croatian gymnasts as in the finals earlier in the day, two more silver medals were won for Croatia.

Since 1992 Croatians have won nine medals in men’s gymnastics.
