Croatia’s Damir Martin wins gold medal at World Rowing Cup medal

12 May 2019 – There was more success for Croatia at the 2019 World Rowing Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria with Damir Martin winning gold on Sunday. 

Martin (30) claimed the gold medal in the Men’s Single Sculls final, clocking a time of 7:26.90sec.

Pilip Pavukou from Belarus took silver in a time of 7:33.04sec, whilst Robert Ven from Finland finished third clocking in at 7:37.29sec.

The double Olympic silver medalist, who was born in Vukovar, already had two World Cup gold medals, winning in 2010 and 2013. 

Earlier in the day, Martin and Valent Sinković claimed silver in the Men’s Pair final.
