Croatia’s Ambassador to Spain Stars In Spanish TV Cooking Show

After 5 years in his post as Croatia’s ambassador to Spain, Neven Pelicaric (47) had one final task to fulfil in Spain before his departure – to teach the Spanish how to cook Croatian style on national television.

Pelicaric was the star of the show recently on popular Spanish cooking show  “Y ademas cocinan” which broadcast last night on the cooking channel Canal Cocina. Pelicaric, who took up his post in Spain in 2008, cooked two dishes whilst being a guest on the show which usually has household names in Spain cooking up their signature dishes. The Croatian ambassador made a ragù, using his traditional family recipe, and also octopus cooked in the Tribunj (small village on the Dalmatian coast) way. Pelicaric is a keen cook, who would often cook for work colleagues when inviting them for a lunch meeting . Just before his departure from Spain, Pelicaric cooked lunch for 36 other diplomats. “I cook for therapy reasons. It relaxes me,” said Pelicaric. (foto: www.plus.es)
