Croatians Welcome in 2014

Rock band Hladno Pivo warmed up the thousands who turned up to Zagreb’s main square, before fireworks went off at the stroke of midnight as the capital’s residents partied late into the night. In the Dalmatian city of Split more than 70,000 revellers turned up to see Gibonni perform before fireworks brought in the New Year in style. Thousands packed Dubrovnik’s famous Stradun, including more than 6,000 tourists, to see in the New Year, while in the northern city of Varaždin, their traditional New Year race was held. The first baby born in Croatia was Sanja Kovač in the eastern city of Osijek at 3:30 this morning.
