Croatians grab three medals at World Taekwondo Championships

Olympic Games: Croatia secures first medal in Tokyo

ZAGREB, 1 June (Hina) – Croatians have shone at the World Taekwondo Championships which are being held in the Azerbaijan capital of Baku. 

Ivan Šapina, a European champion, won the silver medal in the M-87 kg category at the World Taekwondo Championships in Baku on Wednesday, while another Croatian athlete, Bruna Duvančić, won the bronze in the W-49 kg category.

On Tuesday, Croatian Matea Jelić, the Olympic champion in the category Women – 67 kg, grabbed the bronze in the women’s-73kg category during championships in the Azerbaijani capital city.

 All the three medalists are also members of the Split-based Marjan club.
