Global software company HCLSoftware has announced plans to acquire Robotiq.ai, a Zagreb-based provider of enterprise robotic process automation (RPA) technology.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen HCLSoftware’s capabilities in AI-driven automation by adding technology that allows software agents to carry out tasks across enterprise applications, including systems where APIs are unavailable or insufficient.
Founded in the Croatian capital in 2018, Robotiq.ai specialises in robotic process automation (RPA), technology designed to automate repetitive tasks normally carried out manually across different business applications.
Its software can interact with existing systems in much the same way as a human user, allowing companies to automate processes even when older software does not provide modern application programming interfaces (APIs).
Robotiq.ai’s platform is used by large organisations in sectors including banking, insurance and telecommunications.
HCLSoftware said in a statement that the acquisition responds to growing demand from businesses for AI systems that can not only reason and make decisions, but also reliably execute tasks in complex enterprise environments.
Robotiq.ai’s technology will be integrated with HCL UnO Agentic, HCLSoftware’s platform for orchestrating AI agents and enterprise applications.
The combination is intended to extend HCL UnO Agentic from AI-driven decision-making into the execution of tasks across enterprise software, particularly in environments where conventional application programming interfaces cannot be used.
“Enterprises are looking beyond AI experimentation toward production-scale automation that is secure, governed and reliable,” said Kalyan Kumar, President of HCLSoftware.
He said Robotiq.ai would add enterprise-grade execution capabilities to HCL UnO Agentic, allowing customers to deploy and scale agentic AI across business operations.
Darko Jovišić, CEO and co-founder of Robotiq.ai, said the company was built around automation that is designed to be useful, quick to deploy and reliable in production.
He said joining HCLSoftware would provide Robotiq.ai with greater enterprise reach and scale, while combining its technology with HCLSoftware’s platform.
The acquisition is expected to close in November 2026, subject to the completion of the transaction.
HCLSoftware is the software division of global technology company HCLTech. It provides software products to more than 20,000 organisations worldwide, including a majority of Fortune 100 companies and almost half of the Fortune 500.
The deal marks the planned acquisition of a Croatian enterprise technology company by a major global software group, bringing Robotiq.ai’s Zagreb-developed RPA capabilities into HCLSoftware’s broader AI and automation portfolio.
